More than 1.5 lakhs candidates have registered for admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma/certificate courses for the academic session 2017-18 in Jamia Millia Islamia.
Admission tests for these courses are in the last phase.
Major admission tests for university courses and Jamia schools (classes VI, IX, XI) have been completed successfully.
Admission tests are conducted within JMI campus, Kendriya Vidyalayas in Delhi and at centres in 6 cities outside Delhi, namely, Srinagar, Patna, Lucknow, Guwahati, Kolkata and Calicut.Of the total number of applicants, approximately 15,000 candidates have applied to appear in test centres outside Delhi.
Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor JMI who has guided the Office of the Controller of Examinations to conduct these admission tests said, “the aim of the university is to conduct its entrance exams in a planned and phased manner to ensure highest levels of efficiency, transparency and easy access to students from across the country. JMI not only wants to get the best of candidates but also aspires to maintain its student diversity that adds value to life on campus.”
