In a bid to keep the issue alive in public discourse, a group of students pursuing Mass Communication at AJK-MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia are all set to hold the first screening of their documentary film titled ‘Junaid’.
The screening of the documentary is organized collaboration with Khudai Khidmatgar’s Sabka Ghar in Okhla on 8th of October, followed by a discussion around rising incidents of hate crime in the country.
Renowned feminist activist and social scientist Kamla Bhasin and Advocate Kabir Dixit of the Supreme Court are to be a part of the screening and the discussion.
The documentary hinges on the incident in which a 16-year-old boy, Junaid, was allegedly lynched by a mob a day on his way back from Delhi’s Sadar Bazar.
Sarah Rifai, Raza Ansari, Mehtab Shah and Daud Arif, students of M.A Mass Communication 3rd Semester are behind the maiden documentary project on the topic.
